History
Edit
Matthew was born on February 6, 1984, in Sand Springs, a suburb located in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he lived his entire life with his parents, Leonard and Elaine. Little of Matthew's childhood is revealed, though it was mentioned he participated in the local little league baseball team, and once helped his father nurse a wounded nighthawk they found back to health; later in life, Leonard stated that when they let the recovered bird free, it was the happiest he had ever seen Matthew.
In 2006, Matthew became a serial killer, murdering and dismembering young women. Even though Matthew kept some of his victims' body parts in his room after disposing of the rest, his parents somehow remained oblivious to his grisly deeds. It was only after Matthew killed five that he was caught, arrested, and imprisoned for his crimes. While serving his sentence, Matthew apparently gave several interviews before being killed by a fellow inmate.
In March of 2011, Leonard, due to the pressure caused by financial problems, his wife being on her deathbed and the constant harassment he had to endure due to his relationship with Matthew, snapped and began murdering people who resembled his son, who he had begun suffering hallucinations of. Ironically, all of Leonard's victims were killed with Matthew's little league bat, which Leonard kept in his car along with pictures of happier times.
Modus Operandi
Edit
The details of Matthew's crimes are left vague, but what is known is that he dismembered the young women he killed, either pre or post-mortem. It was also heavily implied that he may have committed necrophilia, at least with the severed head of Melanie Nolan, which he kept stored in a box.
Real-Life Comparison
Edit
Matthew appeared to be based on Wisconsin serial killer, cannibal and necrophiliac Jeffrey Dahmer. Along with physically resembling Dahmer, Matthew also kept parts of his victims in his home, was possibly necrophilic, and was killed in prison by another inmate. The main differences between the two was their bodycount, victimology, and sexual orientation.
